Tip 1: Less is more – Air it out instead of washing

Alpaca wool doesn’t need frequent washing. If your garment has an odor, simply airing it outside may be enough. Thanks to its natural fibers, alpaca wool neutralizes odors well. If dirt is visible, gently shake the garment to remove it.

Tip 2: Use the right detergent

Choose a special wool detergent or a mild shampoo. Look for products with minimal chemicals. Avoid fabric softener, as it can coat the fibers and reduce their temperature-regulating abilities.

Tip 3: Gentle machine washing

If you prefer to use the washing machine, follow these steps:

• Use a wool or hand-wash cycle with a max temperature of 30°C (86°F).
• Set the spin cycle to a low speed (no more than 600 RPM).
